A Blog Party

Well, this is a first for me. I have never been part of a blog party before, nor have I ever entered my name for a blog giveaway. But, I have been so blessed by Michelle's blog, She Looketh Well that I thought I would join in. The idea is to tell a little about myself and why I started blogging. I mainly started blogging to keep family and friends abreast about all the happenings of the Fowler clan. Those who know me, know that my husband is an Army Chaplain and we move quite often. Blogging seemed a good way to keep people connected with us. I am a 40 something Mommy of five beautiful blessings ranging in ages from 13 down to 3 years old. I am a sinner saved by grace and am constantly amazed at God's goodness and faihtfulness to me. I am married to my best friend and the love of my life going on 19 years here soon. He is currently deployed to Afghanistan serving a year long deployment. We are greatly anticipating his final return sometime early spring. It has been a hard time for the whole family, but God continues to pour out His love and protection on us during this time. I don't blog as much as I would like, especially during this deployment time. Being the only parent here means that there is not much time to blog as I would like, but I certainly enjoy it when I get a chance to do so. I like to blog about things happening around our home, homeschooling, good books, occasionally crafts and decorating. My desire is to live the Proverbs 31 lifestyle and I am so thankful for the other ladies I have "met" through blogging that have been wonderful examples of the Christian faith. Although I have not met Michelle, I follow her blog often and am always encouraged in my walk with Christ through reading it. May God give you all a blessed Lord's Day!

God bless you and your service to our country. Yes, not just your husband's service, but YOUR service! I'm a wife of a soldier as well with one deployment under my belt as well as another one coming up in less than a year. I'm praying God will sustain you in your husband's absence and that you have a great support system. Thanks for joining the blog party. I'm hitting the follow button now!

God Bless,
Jackie

Welcome to the Party!

It's a pleasure to "meet" you! It is a wonderful testimony of God's goodness in your life that you are looking to Him to be a Proverbs 31 woman. We can do this with His help...thankfully He gives us daily what is needed.

I can totally understand why you might not "blog as often as you would like"...but you are doing something far greater by being fully there for your five blessings from the Lord! One day at a time...moment by moment...

Have a wonderful Lord's Day!
Blessings,
Camille

Wow, you're a Jackie too!! And your husband is a soldier! Thank you for the prayers. I know the prayers of God's people is what continually helps to sustain us during this time. This is our second deployment as well. We will remember your family as well in our prayers. The impending countdown is so very difficult as well. May God allow you and your family to savor every moment. Blessings, Jackie

Hello. I'm visiting from Michelle's blog. It's very nice to meet you. I also homeschool, love healthy eating, natural remedies, decorating from the thrift stores, etc. Sounds like we're kindred in many ways.

You have a beautiful family.
Have a blessed and peaceful week.

You are the first military wife I've ran into so far in the blog party. Awesome to have "met" you. I just love the name "Josiah". So glad you have one too!

Thank you so much. It is a very hard thing to go through, but God is teaching me to be content in all things, even in these difficult times. He is so faithful!

Hi, Jackie,

I'm still trying to visit the last of the party attendees. I just stopped by your blog. I'm so happy for you that you won one of the party gifts!

I see you have 5 children and homeschool and I do as well. The Lord bless you at this time that your husband serves our country. We have a good friend from our seminary days who is a Nat'l Guard chaplain, and I'm sure it is not easy. May each of you be blessed at this time!

Oh, and I loved those photos you posted with the plastic army soldiers. I can relate to those--especially to the ones where the toys are inside the shoes. That has happened here more times than I can count--only usually with Legos!
