God's Provision ~ Our Vacation

Part of the time I was absent from blogging, God very unexpectedly provided for us a wonderful vacation time.  I want to show you highlights from our time away over a few different posts.  As many of you know, my husband is an Army Chaplain.  Part of the job for a Chaplain is caring for soldiers once they return from a deployment.  A Chaplain is also there to help couples build stronger marriages.  Being that the national divorce rate is high...the statistics for the military are even greater.  Is it any wonder when so many husbands are taken out of the home for long periods of time?  Therefore, the Army designates funds for providing weekend retreats where the Chaplains help couples with some of the unique issues facing them.  For the first time, we were able to attend one of those retreats with my husband.  The previous ones he attended, it seemed like one of the children would get sick right before we were supposed to go.  This particular retreat was at Myrtle Beach, South Carolin at the Embassey Suites in Kingston Plantation.
This was the view from our balcony.  It was so peaceful to be able to look out and see the ocean in the mornings.  I labeled this post God's Provision because it truly was.  I mentioned the extra financial burden with the children's doctor visits.  Because of that, we had decided we would not go on vacation this year.  But, God, in His Providence, provided for us in a most spectacular way.  Since my husband's hotel room was paid for, we were able to stay here free of charge.  And although he had to do sessions throughout the day, he was accompanied by another Chaplain who took part of those and we got some family time together.
When Daddy wasn't able to be with us, I took the children for a walk around the grounds there.  It was so lovely.  The weather was beautiful and the grounds were gorgeous.
The children really enjoyed their view from the balcony.
While on our walk, we found the most beautiful moth.  It's wing was injured some, so we found a lovely lake and tree to place it out of the sun so it could hopefully get its strength back.  My children never want to harm any kind of creature.
This was the moth's resting place.  There were swans swimming in the lake as well.
We took one last picture of the hotel on our way to our next destination...which I will share with you soon.  We arrived here on a Friday afternoon and then left Sunday after worship services.  God wasn't through blessing us yet!
Here are the backseat buddies as we begin our drive to another lovely stop.

Until next time!  Shalom!

Catching My Breath!

It has been quite a while since I have blogged...quite honestly, with all that has been going on at our house, I have seriously thought about shutting down my blog.  It is just one of those seasons in life that require so very much of my time and attention.  But, I do enjoy the fact that I have connected through this blog with some wonderful ladies...and it is a great way to keep family and friends abreast of all that is going on here.  So, at the moment, I will remain, though it might be a little more sporadic than in times past.  So much has happened since I last blogged.  I won't bore you with all the details, but at the moment I have two of my children under the care of a chiroprator.  My oldest, Joy, is having to go through some neck traction and some other things while Josiah, my second oldest, is having his atlas adjusted.  The drive to the doctor takes an hour one way...so getting a second vehicle became an imperative at that point.  We searched and searched and finally decided on another minivan so we would have a newer vehicle that would carry us all.  It has been so nice to have the option to run out and get things we need at a moments notice so I am very grateful to the Lord for His provision.  We ended up getting a used vehicle, but still the shock of the price was a little hard to swallow.  Right now, the children are seeing the doctor twice a week, so that takes a good portion out of our week.  My husband has started a new job that keeps him extremely busy and we are trying to adjust to his added demands and new hours.  He has been preaching on post most Sundays lately so that has been a blessing for him and for us.  I have a long list of projects that I am going to be completing before our next school year starts...which right now is going to be around the third week of July.  God has been showing me and teaching me much during these weeks of activity.  I look forward to sharing my heart with you on so many things.  It has been a hard time for us...physically, emotionally...and now even financially.  But, to see the hand of God's generousity toward His children has been so beautiful.  It is further confirmation that He provides for our needs...always.  I feel so extremely blessed to be loved so much by Him.  How undeserving I truly am...and yet, He remains ever faithful and true.  I hope to catch up with all my blogging friends very soon.  I have missed you all.  Keep us in your prayers during this season in our lives.  God bless!
