Time is Growing Shorter

If any of you have been keeping up with my countdown on my sidebar, you will notice that we are now in the double digits!!!  Yes, we have clicked less than the 100 day mark and are getting closer as each new morning dawns to the time when my dh will be home and our family will once again be reunited.  And, there is even better news than being less than 100 days!  It seems God, in His gracious Providence, may be allowing my husband's deployment to be cut short considerably less than what we had expected.  So, that means all those days left on my countdown are not accurate!  Praise the Lord for that!  I cannot tell you all how many days yet...security reasons will not allow me to do so.  Also, the date seems to keep changing on us almost everytime I speak to him...Welcome to the military!  Flexibility is definitely one of the things you are taught when your husband is a military man!  So, I would appreciate your prayers that indeed this wonderful turn of events will come to pass and for his safe return when that time does come.  We still have a little while to go, but I will keep you informed as the time gets closer!  We are so excited anticipating his return.  My winter almost feels like spring!!!

OH, I'm so excited for you! I pray all goes as "planned". I know what you mean about the military. My husband just switched battalions, so it is going to be awhile before he gets deployed again. What a blessing! I'm so excited! Also, my husband's brother is on his way home as I type this. God is good!

Thank you Jackie. I appreciate those prayers. And how wonderful that your husband's deployment has been delayed. I know what a blessing that must be to your family.

In Christ,
Jackie

Yes Gail it is, and I am praising God for several reasons this year!

They told us the same thing about not giving exact dates online. Apparently some people were putting it in their Facebook status updates. So excited for you!

I can't find the Bible verse! It's about how we don't know when the Lord is returning, but we are ready for his coming. That must be the JOY you are feeling right now---the great anticipation, but not knowing exactly when. I'm so happy for you. Have you told your kids yet, or will you let them be surprised? Flexibility is a lot more difficult for them. God bless you!

I know and I am itching to tell people more the time frame at least...but right now, dh doesn't even have the exact date. He said it may not be until shortly before he boards the plane. That has prompted me to start working faster!

Lois,

You have described much of what I am feeling exactly! I have told the children it is soon, but not the time frame...at least not the little ones. That way, if it gets pushed back or changed, they won't be disappointed. And I probably won't even tell them until the day that he gets in...they won't sleep a wink if I do!

How wonderful! Praise the Lord! You must miss him so much. My sis (Cheesemaken' Mamma) has been through this and watching her was a sight to behold. She did very well, until the very end when she fell down a flight of stairs and he had to come home from his deployment two weeks earlier. That was awful and not the homecoming that she wanted for him.

You have a cheerful attitude about the whole thing.

How awesome that other dads will not have to be gone as long!

I saw on your reading list, Womanly Dominion. Excellent read! Totally loved it!

Stacie,
Oh how awful for Jackie. Praise God it was near the end when that happened and not the beginning! We are indeed rejoicing. Thanks for the kind words!
